Top 10 Best Hunting Shows
1. Meat Eater
Where to watch:
- Netflix
- YouTube
- MyOutdoorTV
- Amazon Prime
- Sportsman Channel
MeatEater is, as the name suggests, a great show for people who fantasize about hunting and eating anything, from squirrels and catfish to ducks and moose. This has got to be the most popular, or at least the most trendy, hunting show that is currently running.
The host, Steven Rinella, is the real deal. He’s a hunter, environmentalist, and experienced shooter. Not to mention a pretty darned good cook. He also has managed to appeal to a lot of non-hunters in a reasonably positive way. Personally, I appreciate his perspective on hunting ethics and conservation.
2. The Hunting Public
Where to watch:
- YouTube
- Amazon Prime
It’s hard to pick just one, but I’d have to go with The Hunting Public’s YouTube video series for my personal favorite of the best hunting shows. I’ve been binging on their turkey tour videos as I’ve been getting into turkey hunting myself lately.
These videos are authentic and combine useful tips with laid-back hunting stories and experienced hunters. You can find how-to videos and real hunt logs, plus many funny moments that are completely unscripted.
3. Alone
Where to watch:
- Netflix
- Hulu
- History Channel
- Amazon Prime
While this is not a dedicated hunting show, they bowhunt and trap in every episode. Moose, musk ox, snowshoe hare, and squirrel hunts abound. Of all the reality TV competions out there, I find this one not only tolerable, but intriguing. One man or woman living alone in the Arctic for as long as possible.
If you haven’t watched it, try it! They film everything themselves and they have to hunt, gather, and fish to survive. No hoaky music, no fancy cinematography, no outfitter trophy hunts, no staged stunts. Just raw nature and bushcraft skills.
4. Primos TRUTH About Hunting
Where to watch:
- Outdoor Channel
- MyOutdoorTV
- YouTube
Who says that hunting has to be serious all the time? Primos TRUTH About Hunting is excellent because it combines solid hunting tips with a healthy dose of humor.
Part of the charm is that the show is presented as-is, with no edits or staged hunts. It’s a lot like a YouTube channel. The Primos boys hunt turkeys, waterfowl, giant bucks, and elk along the banks of the Mississippi.
5. Adrenaline
Where to watch:
- Sportsman Channel
- MyOutdoorTV
- Amazon Prime
If you love whitetail hunting, then this is a must-see show. There’s nothing like the thrill of hunting massive fair chase whitetails in rugged terrain. Don’t expect perfect hunts every week.
This realistic show highlights crushing failures just as much as incredible successes. Plus, hosts Linda Sanchez and Kyle Wieter are a blast in the wilderness.
6. Game of Inches
Where to watch:
- Sportsman Channel
- MyOutdoorTV
- YouTube
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hunt big game on the other side of the world? Game of Inches takes you to incredible locations with host Justin Olk hunting unbelievable trophies, from bears to big cats. It’s less of an average Joe hunter show and more of a more bucks for your bang show.
7. North American Whitetail
Where to watch:
- Sportsman Channel
- Outdoor Channel
- MyOutdoorTV
- Amazon Prime
The North American Whitetail magazine was the go-to place to find deer hunting guides for beginners and pros. Now, NAW TV shows the same in-depth tips and advanced deer hunting techniques up close and personal. NAW TV is also available on the Sportsman Channel.
8. Crush With Lee & Tiffany
Where to watch:
- Outdoor Channel
- Carbon TV
- MyOutdoorTV
- YouTube
Are you looking for a hunting show for the whole family? This true-to-life fan favorite follows the Lakosky family and their Labrador retrievers as they hunt challenging game.
It’s life, love, and the outdoors all rolled into one. If your significant other always fight with you over the remote, this show is one they’ll get into.
9. Bow Life TV
Where to watch:
- Sportsman Channel
- Outdoor Channel
- MyOutdoorTV
- Amazon Prime
Archery lovers have to check out this fantastic show about world-class bow hunters Samantha and Levi Morgan. The show covers top competitions in North America and techniques for bow hunting in the wild.
10. HeadHunters TV
Where to watch:
- Outdoor Channel
- MyOutdoorTV
- Amazon Prime
This show is a mixture of hunting adventures and reality television. It’s just as much about the personalities of Randy and Nate as the backwoods hunts they get into.
From New Mexico to Montana to Texas, these boys are always on the road. This isn’t the best show to improve your hunting techniques, but it’s a lot of fun.
Best Hunting Shows on Netflix
Sadly, there’s only one real hunting show on Netflix worth your time, MeatEater. But while it might be a bit of a stretch, I’m calling Alone a hunting show too. Besides these, there are a few related competitions and reality TV series that, personally, I find less than interesting.
