Every week we manually crawl the catalogs, ads, and websites of the top outdoor gear retailers like our lives depend on it. In our opinion, these are some of the BEST DEALS AND DISCOUNTS on gear for camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. See if there’s something you like, or share our finds with a friend.
LAST UPDATE: September 9, 2024
Scheels has a big hunting sale going on now through Sept 15, but other than that we’re in between big sales at the moment with Labor Day in the rear view mirror and the holiday season still a ways out in front of us. Nonetheless, there are some hidden deals to be uncovered, especially on clearance items as summer inventory is on its way out and fall on its way in. Below are some items we found that we think are awesome deals, including a few smoking deals on sleeping bags.

While it may be out of season, you can save nearly 90% off this sleeping bag for next spring and summer! Mammut is a reputable brand that's well known in Europe, but less so in the US. But for 40 bucks for a down sleeping bag that weighs about 2 pounds, it's hard to find a reason not to give it a try.
While it's double the price of the first Mammut sleeping bag on here, it's nearly as good of a deal for a warmer 3-season bag. 75% off for a genuine, high-quality, down sleeping bag with free shipping and handling is sort of a no brainer. Camp Saver often gets overlooked in the world of online marketplaces, but deals like this make it worth another visit.
If you don't already have a compass, you need one. It's time, just get it. Then go learn how to use it. It just might get you out of a pickle in the woods one day. This is a solid one from a reputable compass maker for nearly half off.
A good deal on First Lite gear is hard to come by, but right now at Scheels you can get the Obsidian merino wool and stretch nylon ripstop pant in their popular Cipher camo print for 40% off. Still not cheap, but worth it for a durable, quiet, all-season hunting pant.
If you've been wanting one of those fancy puffy blankets, but were taken aback by the price tag, maybe this deal will help. Rumpl's original puffy blanket is on sale just about everywhere right now, but Scheels seems to have the smokingest deal we could find - half off on select colors!
If you've been waiting for a deal on a heavy-duty, fireproof safe for your guns and valuables, it doesn't get much cheaper than this. This Redfield safe is normally $1,299.99, so that's $500 off (-38%)! It's a good time to lock up your guns to keep them out of the hands of thieves and children. If you haven't done it yet, get 'er done. It needs to happen.
One of the best deals at the Cabela's/Bass Pro Shops Fall Hunting Classic sale just might be this 2-pack of trail cams. It's only $20 more than buying a single camera. These from Moultrie Mobile have become very popular because they're affordable and easy to use. I have one myself, and just might have to get another set. Good deal!
I got this bino harness last season with high hopes, and while it didn't quite tick all the boxes for me, it's the best I've tried so far. It's lightweight, waterproof, thoughtfully designed, and minimalistic, all of which I like. I wish it was a little easier to open and close one handed with gloves on and that the accompanying rangefinder pouch wasn't so small (barely fits my Maven rangefinder), but this is still a great deal for a high-end piece of hunting kit. I paid full price for mine at $120.
I'm usually a bit leary of a pop-up tent, but this one has a good reputation with more good reviews than you can easily fake. And right now, it's on clearance for only $45! That's 63% off! It's a great deal for a starter tent or something simple for car camping.
This isn't quite as good of a deal as other sleeping bags Decathlon has on clearance right now, but for a cold weather bag, it's a bargain! The comfort rating on this is 23 deg F and the limit rating is 12 deg F. It has synthetic fill, but that's pretty great considering the price. If you're looking for a fall/winter bag that won't break the bank, this could be a contender. They have some other sleeping bags on sale now too.
Decathlon Quechua 20 L Cooler Backpack
I have the previous model of this cooler backpack and it gets used more than any other cooler I have (65 and counting) because it's so darn convenient. It's great for day hikes, picnics, and even overnight campouts. And right now it's on sale for only $20, hard to beat! Much better quality than what you find on Amazon at the same price point.
Another smoking deal at Camp Saver right now is the popular MSR Whisperlite camping/backpacking stove. This is the liquid fuel version that can take white gas, kerosene, or unleaded gas. I hear they perform amazingly well in the wind. Use coupon code KITUP40 for 40% off to usual price of $160!
